COLUMBUS, Ohio, March. 9th, 2010 – 3X Systems, the automatic offsite backup company for SMBs, today announced that the 3X Remote Backup Appliance® (3X RBA) has been named a Most Valuable Product (MVP) by Redmond Magazine. The 3X RBA received perfect scores for installation, ease-of-use, and administration in a comprehensive review of its capabilities that appears in the March issue. Redmond cited the 3X RBA for its unique ability to enable enterprises to set up a private backup cloud in order to become their own backup service provider.

Total Data Privacy
To overcome the privacy drawbacks of cloud backup services, the 3X RBA stores data on a physical appliance that is owned and controlled by the business. All data on the device is protected by HIPAA Compliant 128-bit AES encryption with digital access keys, hardware signatures, IP filtering, and hierarchical permission levels of administrator authorization. Remote backup sessions are secured using SSL encryption at both ends of broadband connections to prevent data theft.
Total Data Recovery
The 3X RBA is designed to be administered by an IT professional, but also to be used comfortably by non-technical staff who can easily and safely recover their own files from a point-in-time restore via a simple interface. In addition, administrators can push restored files as needed to their original or new locations. The 3X RBA management system also provides detailed reporting and alerting capabilities for audit, troubleshooting, and to prevent data loss.

With the RBA, data can be backed up from anywhere to anywhere using the system’s unique locator service technology which eliminates manual configuration of IP addresses, port numbers, and hostnames.
