3X Systems Unveils New Tape-Free Backup Product for SMBs
3X Systems (formerly Boxicom, Inc.) will unveil its new
patent-pending data backup appliance to IT managed service providers and
network system resellers during a product demonstration event scheduled
for Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the TechColumbus technology campus
located at 1275 Kinnear Road in Columbus, Ohio.
Targeted at small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs), the 3X backup
solution is set to displace existing manual tape solutions. The
all-in-one appliance offers SMB’s an affordable, secure and automated
approach to modern data protection and recovery minus the hassles of
manual tape systems or the recurring high costs of online service
providers.
Through proprietary block level de-duplication, single instance file
backup and data protection technologies, the 3X system is capable of
securely backing up large amounts of data to remote sites over standard
broadband Internet connections. Through an easy-to-use Web console, the
product allows network administrators to manage backup settings for an
organization’s mobile devices, desktop computers and servers. The system
allows files to be restored to any of the several scheduled
point-in-time backups.
Data is automatically moved offsite, thus facilitating critical
disaster recovery and business continuity plans, while eliminating the
necessity for manual removal of backup media from the organization’s
physical facility.
The 3X backup solution is easy to implement and offers universal
compatibility with the most popular operating systems utilized by most
SMBs The system is optimal for 10- to 200-seat environments with maximum
protected data of around 2.7 terabytes.
